books are beautiful...

There is a sort of busy worm,
That will the fairest book deform.
Their tasteless tooth will tear and taint
The poet, patriot, sage or saint,
Nor sparing wit nor learning.
Now, if you'd know the reason why,
The best of reasons I'll supply:
'Tis bread to the poor vermin.

– J. Doraston, quoted by W. Blades

From Inkheart.

So, what made you quote this? Found some in your own book collection?
Thanks though, beautiful piece

I am reading Cornelia Funke's Inkheart. The book has quotes from other books at the beginning of each chapter. I really liked this one.

You know how when you grow up you try to do everything you couldn't or didn't do as a kid? Reading is one of those things I never did as a kid... I'm so enamoured by all kinds of books now, as a result :)

I tried reading Inkheart but got bored with it - may be it was really for young kids which I possibly am no more (though I enjoy reading the Harry Potter series and the Circle of Inheritance' series of Christopher Paolini)..

Loved Harry Potter. Circle of Inheritance is in my list. I read the Artemis Fowl books too. They were quite good. Smart plots and well written.
